    MEET OUR TEAM

    PIERRE VAN DER WALT

    DIRECTOR & PORTFOLIO MANAGER

    With almost 25 years of financial markets experience behind him, Pierre leads the Walt Capital team. Walt Capital was launched in 2019 and concentrate on adding real value to the over taxed, over charged private investor in South-Africa. Pierre has a crystal clear vision of where and what Walt Capital management must be and is actively growing the company towards being one of South Africa’s leading asset managers.

    Pierre enjoys the martial arts, he trains in the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, as he believes that a disciplined body leads to a disciplined mind. He received his black belt from Ryron Gracie in 2016 after 24 years of training Jiu-Jitsu. He is also an instructor of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and travel to the Gracie University (Los Angeles, California) every 2 years to train with the Gracie family to enhance his understanding of the art and how the human body works.

    SILVIA VAN DER WALT

    OFFICE MANAGER

    Silvia is the glue that holds it all together. She manages all of the administration, FICA compliance, and the office in general. As is the case with Pierre, Silvia is the exceptionally proud mother of two boys.

    JASON VAN DER WALT

    INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE

    Jason graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2020 studying BCom. Investment Management but his investment journey started long before with successful personal trading accounts since he was 15. He has been part of Walt Capital Management ever since. Jason enjoys continuous development in all fields.

    A healthy body is a healthy mind and Jason does his best to be as healthy as possible to be able to work at peak performance everyday.

    CALVIN VAN DER WALT

    INTERN

    Calvin, an avid adventurer who never turns down an opportunity to explore the outdoors. His love for the bush, nature, and animals drives his constant quest for knowledge.

    As a very social person, he spends weekends behind the braai, experimenting with new recipes. Calvin’s commitment to adventure defines his dynamic and passionate approach to life.

    CLIVE OOSTHUIZEN

    HEAD OF NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

    His enthusiasm for self-growth and commitment is apparent in his everyday interactions with his clients.

    When Clive is not going to the ends of the earth for his customers, he enjoys running, hiking, adventure riding and spending time in nature with his lovely wife and son. He is always up for a challenge and goes above and beyond for his clients.

    NICOL MOODY

    COMPLIANCE OFFICER

    Nicol has a very strong legal background as well as a degree in law from one of South-Africa’s leading universities. Nicol practiced as an attorney for a number of years but found a particular interest in the financial markets. He and Pierre has been working closely together since 2008 and bring a wealth of experience to Walt Capital. He is also responsible for all the compliance legislation with regards to the industries that Walt Capital operates in, and make sure that all staff is properly trained to comply with all applicable legislation.

    Nicol is a big Rugby fan and has a profound love for food, he is a master behind the braai constantly testing new recipes!
